Adolescent Drug Abuse: Addiction, History, Current Use, and Effects
Abstract
When faced with the task of educating their children about drugs, parents typically have many questions. What do they need to know? And how likely is it that their child will experiment with drugs? This study reviews information from sources on addiction, the history of drug use, trends in current use, and the effects of specific drugs in an attempt to provide a knowledge base from which parents can address their teens' use of drugs. tt is the researcher's intent to provide a starting point from which parents can continue to find relevant and helpful information on adolescent drug use and abuse.
