Abstract (Description of Research)

For campus research day, my presentation will be focusing on the synthesis and purification techniques used to obtain anthraquinone derivatives. The ultimate goal of creating these derivatives is to obtain a benzophosphole using the anthraquinone dimer. In it, I will explain the experimental process, including refluxing, filtration, and solvent testing, to improve product purity. The presentation will also explore how the final benzophosphole product could exhibit interesting optoelectronic properties, potentially making it valuable for OLED applications or advanced battery materials. This research highlights the potential for creating novel organic compounds with enhanced electronic and photophysical characteristics.
