“Save A Loaf” was one of many posters issued during World War I to encourage support of the war. This poster was illustrated Fredric Gross Cooper in 1917. Cooper was a well-known American graphic designer and poster artist. The poster encourages Americans to support the war effort through conserving food and adjusting their eating habits (especially wheat) so that food can be sent abroad to the soldiers. This poster was created and reproduced as a lithograph at the time of its distribution.
