Abstract

Bernice, a Southern alumnus, shared about her time as a medical assistant with Amor Projects in Peru. She discussed her career and how her time as a student missionary impacted her journey. She shared about difficult times during her time and experiences that brought her closer to people and God.

Peru is a country located in western South America that borders the Pacific Ocean, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, and Ecuador. The primary ethnic groups in Peru consist of indigenous groups Mestizos (or those of mixed ethnicity) and the Quechua (the indigenous group of Peru), and the primary religion is Roman Catholicism. Peru is known for Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, and its unique cuisine.
