Abstract
Details: A SharePoint document library can be a useful platform for collecting documents for shared access, approval flows, and reporting. Power Automate and MS Forms can be used to automatically populate a document library and add metadata, but we found out that (for beginning users at least) we had to work through many misleading suggestions from expert users and AI chatbots before working out a robust solution. This session will cover how to set up the development environment and share examples of Power Automate flows that will allow users to submit PDFs and Microsoft documents to a document library via MS Forms.
Intended Audience: Higher education institutional research professionals who are considering the use of a SharePoint document library for collecting files to support workflow and reporting and who are interested in the potential of Power Automate. Our use case was the collection of annual faculty evaluation documents.
