Campus Research Month will be celebrated across our campus throughout the month of April.

Campus Research Month Events

Each academic discipline represented across campus is encouraged to host student or faculty oral research presentation events and to invite guest researchers appropriate for their discipline to speak at their leisure. Any such events can be listed and promoted through the Campus Research Month website and the library's social media. To send in your event information and/or statistics for inclusion in Campus Research Month, please email bfhoward@southern.edu.

Campus Research Month Schedule

Campus Research Day will be held April 24, 2025 and will include morning and afternoon poster sessions in the Collegedale Seventh-Day Adventist Church Fellowship Hall.

Interdisciplinary Poster Sessions

All students who wish to present a poster during Campus Research Day are welcome to submit a poster presentation proposal for inclusion in the program. All such students will be included in the program, provided they register by the deadline. The morning poster session will be held from 9 AM to 10:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall of Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church. The afternoon poster session will be held from 2 PM to 3:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall of Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church. Each poster session will include an optional competition for those who wish to compete, with prizes of $200 (1st prize), $150 (2nd prize), and $100 (3rd prize). Competitors should prepare high-quality posters and be ready to give a five-minute summary of their research to the session's judges. The recommended poster for the Campus Research Day poster session would be a 36”x48” trifold poster . Students are responsible for providing their own poster and supplies for mounting their poster.

Dean's Luncheon Showcase

This year, each school/department is encouraged to pick an exceptional student whose research or outstanding academic project will be recognized at the Campus Research Day Dean's Luncheon Showcase. These students' names and hard work will be recognized at this event while they enjoy a meal with the faculty. Several students across the disciplines will be chosen to present seven-minute summaries of their research upon student and professor recommendation/agreement. To notify of your department's interest in recognizing a student researcher at the Dean's Luncheon, please fill out this form. Please let us know if your department plans to submit the name of a student for this recognition: Departmental Interest-Student Research Excellence Recognition Form

Evening Research Convocation

An evening convocation celebrating the research being conducted on our campus will be hosted at 7:30 PM-8:30 PM in Lynn Wood Hall Chapel. This year, Professor Matthew Duffy, PhD, will be the featured speaker. Enrichment credit will be provided.
