Currently, people do not consider African countries for business related endeavors. International media often displays a biased and pessimistic view about Africa, perpetuating ideas of complete poverty and underdevelopment in the continent. These stereotypes foster implicit biases that likely incline people against viewing Africans as legitimate and capable business partners. This project will look at the general knowledge Southern students have about African countries, how that is related to their exposure to media, and the implicit biases they hold about Africa. All these factors will then be related to their willingness to invest in or partner with African businesses.
