As a first-generation Hispanic college student, I am curious as to how the Hispanic culture may contribute to a students end goal: a college degree. This presentation will focus on the influences of the Hispanic culture on a college students success and/or failure in college. The following variables will be considered for this study: academic performance (GPA), language (Spanish/English), collectivism/individualism, gender, and economic status. Furthermore, a comparison of these variables will be made with Caucasian American college students and their culture.
