Description

The purpose of the study is to understand the unique experiences of Women of colour in STEM fields and how gender and racial disparity affects this population.

Existing research points out that there is a scarcity of women in STEM related fields which leads to discrimination and eventually a high dropout rate. There is also research that covers the topic of discrimination people of colour in STEM and the success rate of said people in their respective programs. It is also noted that high achieving women tend to have higher instances of IP compared to their male peers. Taking all this into consideration there is a research gap when it comes to exploring the intersection of race and gender in women of that are in male dominated spaces
