Abstract (Description of Research)

Computational software will be used to calculate lambdamax for a series of homologous compounds. The accuracy of lambdamax would be compared to known values, and patterns would be searched for. Calculations would be done using WebMo and Gaussian, and calculated UV vis spectra would be analyzed to label compounds with lambdamax. Chemical compounds from previously published work would be verified computationally to identify UV vis spectra.
