Abstract (Description of Research)
Many studies in recent decades have focused on the creation of various benzophosphole oxides. They have highly delocalized π-conjugated systems unique to this class of molecules. They have important optoelectronic properties that have made them useful in the electronics industry, notably for use in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). We are attempting to synthesize a novel pyridyl-substituted benzophosphole oxide. We hope that the addition of the pyridyl groups will have unique properties.
