The relationship between occupational stress, burnout, and retention among nurses

Presentation Type

Poster Presentation

Mentor/Supervising Professor Name

Dr. Andrew Richards

Description

This presentation attempts to establish a relationship between occupational stress experienced by nurses and the degree to which nurses develop burnout. By establishing causes of occupational stress for nurses a conclusion can be drawn as to why nurses are feeling more stress. After exploring this information, an understanding of the correlation that stress has with burnout and quality of life can establish a causational relationship. The study can then explore how these variables affect retention of nurses and how to increase retention.
