The main goal of the experiment is to create a dibenzophosphole oxide with benzothiophenes as R groups in a conformation that has never been made before. A property of benzothiophenes is that they are anti-cancer agents. We are testing whether the dibenzophosphole oxide in this new conformation will aid in cancer research.
